Begun in 1887 this family house portrays life during the Victorian era and is a noticeable example of the influence of William Morris, with original Morris wallpapers, fabrics, Demorgan tiles, Kempe glass; and Pre-Raphaelite works of art.
The house has splendid gardens and the outbuildings house stables, handmade pottery, a studio workshop and an antiquarian bookshop.

Disabled access ground floor and garden (sloping).

Garden: 3 Mar - 23 Dec, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday 11am - 6pm, Bank Holidays
11am - 6pm
House: 4 Mar - 23 Dec Thursday & Saturday 1.30pm to 5pm.(Last entry 4.30pm Family Openings)
Wednesdays during August 1.30pm to 5pm

Also open Bank Holiday,Sunday and Monday (ground floor only) 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
Viewing is by timed ticket and guided tour only.
